A big factor in determining the final price of any trade item is the costs in transporting it from its place of origin to the destination where it will
be sold. The pages corresponding to this page will look at the associated costs of moving goods by water or land. Both are taken from terran examples
and will hopefully provide players and GMs some insight as to what is involved and how this can be played in an economic gaming scenario.
The Land Borne and Water Borne pages provide a comparison between moving wool over a mostly sea route and then an inland route that is a combination of
river and mule transport. Both involve the transport of wool and neither shows the actual costs involved from place of purchase to final destination.
However, the purpose here is to demonstrate that trade conducted on water routes was far cheaper than that done inland over rivers and mule trails; in
this case almost seven times as much.
