Generating the village
In this phase you generate the village using any of the four spreadsheet. The one for generating a village on abbey lands will automatically deal with
the issue of some of the households actually representing members of the abbey itself. This is a new topic that showed up in the new Kaldor kingdom
module. Follow these simple instructions, the instructions are also on the sheet for generating a village.
-
Step 1
-
Before you click on the 'Generate a Village' button, you must decide on labor and rent for your tenants using the following
instruction.
-
The default for labor is 4 days, you can change this, before pushing the button, by entering a '1' beside either 3 or 5 days of labor
-
The default for rent is 6d, you can change this, before pushing the button, by entering 4, 5, 7, or 8 to reflect the desired rent
-
Click on the 'Generate a Village' button to create your initial village census form.
-
Step 2
-
If you are not satisfied with the results, click on the 'Clear Village' button and go back to step 1.
-
Step 3
-
If your manor has a topography of 'Forest' or 'Coastal,' click on the 'Coastal/Forest Option' button to generate either
fishing or trapping results for the manor.
-
Step 4
-
If you wish you can go back and change rent or labor options at this time to see how it would affect what the tenants owe you. Once you have
made your changes, click on the 'Labor/Rent/Fees Update' button. You can do this as often as you like untill you are satisfied or
click the 'Clear Village' button.
You now have a fully generated village. Click HERE to see a PDF of the completed sheet on
