Generating the Lords's Budget
In this phase you generate the lord's budget using any of the four spreadsheet. Follow these simple instructions,the instructions are also on the sheet
for generating the lord's budget.

Step 1

Generate the annual budget for this manor, using the other option to fine tune the results

Push the 'Lord's Budget' button

Step 2

If this manor receives any income from subordinate manors use one of the following options:

Enter an amount generated during the development of a subordinate manor

Or, enter the number of subordinate manors held by vassals and/or bailiffs in the spaces below the Step 2 heading

Use the 'Update Budget' button to add the changes

Using your surplus you can either add more to your political expenses and increase your lifestyle and prestige and/or add some to the privy
purse. The privy purse starts with a minimum of 10% of Total Income. Remember, money saved in a medieval style setting does not help you
politically. For this initial phase the exchange is 1:1 for the privy purse, the truth is that it depends on the market on what you will
actually get for you goods in exchange for silver. Use the 'Update Budget' button to change totals.

If there is a negative surplus you must go back and adjust your household expenses, or use your privy purse, or get a loan for the amount you
are short. You could also start with your serfs and freemen owing higher rents than the starting standards.

If you have made any changes to this page and none any where else you can use this button to update the totals.

The nest tab you will see is the 'Continuing the Process' tab. By following the instructions on this tab you will fill in the
'Village Census Form' and the 'Manor Budget Form,' save the file with your manor's name, and setup the workbook for
further use in managing this manor.
